3 days of golf and decadent dinners with old friends.

I got a message from my friend Rocky about an upcoming PGA pro-am event sponsored by the Iowa PGA. I was happy to say yes to an amazing event held at 3 of Las Vegas’s premier courses. One of which has been on my bucket list for years, Southern Highlands. The other 2 Rio Secco and Cascata I had played before, but my round at Cascata was cut short due to inclement weather so I was happy to get back out to Boulder City to enjoy another 18 holes. It was great to hang out with my friends Frank, Rocky, Tilly and a new friend Jeff. I had not seen them in years and we had the chance to catch up on old times. We didn’t play that great, but we made up for the lack of scoring at some nice restaurants in town including Nora’s Italian cuisine and STK steakhouse at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino.

Italian American Club Las Vegas, Nevada

The Italian American Club Ristorante Italiano on East Sahara in Las Vegas is a long standing tradition for Vegas locals and tourists.  It has been around since 1960 and serves traditional Italian American favorites like lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and a variety of steaks, seafood, and pasta dishes.  I had the chicken parmigiana, meatballs, stuffed banana peppers, and a few glasses of red wine.  Everything I ate and drank was delicious.  I would recommend the Italian American Club if you are in the mood for large portions and a speak easy atmosphere when dining.  You can find the Club at 2333 E Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89104.

Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, NV 2018

The last time I went to Electric Daisy Carnival was in Los Angeles, Ca.  The event was held there for years before moving to Las Vegas due to a young lady’s death at the event.  Over the years tickets have become rather expensive and I have had to work during the festival so I had not made it out to the Las Vegas motor speedway to experience the lights, rides, music and people, but this year 2018 I had my chance.  I signed up for a job to help clean up the event and I was given a weekend all access pass.  I had a great time and I’m glad I got the opportunity.  Check out my photos and videos below.

Mystere at Treasure Island

Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere at Treasure Island is a long standing show on the Las Vegas Strip.  The European style circus is one to marvel at.  Packed with music, acrobatic performances, body contortionist, court jesters, and amazing athletes this show will keep most anyone entertained.  Most tickets can be purchased for under $100 and can be booked online or by calling Treasure Island.  Kids are welcome to attend, but will also need to have a ticket.  Overall, I would highly suggest this show as a nice break away from the casino floors, night clubs, and buffet lines.   You can find Mystere at  3300 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

Another Challenge… This time re-marketed

Yesterday was the first day of my new 24 day challenge for 2018, but the company has renamed the challenge the 24 day jump starter that is now part of an 80 day system. I guess if I feel like it on day 25, I’ll continue on and find out what that’s all about, but for now I am focused on getting through the first few days. Yesterday and today went well, I exercised and ate clean, took my supplements, and got some rest. I woke up early today and realized I’m starting to feel different. Kind of like the fat around my face is starting to burn away. To me this is a good feeling because I know I am going in the right direction in terms of weight loss. I was down a pound during this morning’s weigh in. I felt like my body was starting to make an adjustment and I had some moments of coffee with drawl. I forgot how irritable I can get without it, but it’s nice to put the java down and inhale some nice clean water. I went to the store after work and I wanted to eat everything that my eyes laid on, but I restrained myself and settled for some Boar’s Head turkey breast and veggies. I sauteed the combination in olive oil and dusted it with some spices and Bon Appétit baby. Other than that I met some great people today, and learned some valuable lessons.

Maza Mediterranean Grill

I was out running errands on my day off and decided I wanted to try something new. I have driven by Maza, but never stopped in to dine. The restaurant is very clean and they have a cool looking fish tank on display at the bar. It was lunch time and the server highlighted their special which consists of a starter, a main dish selection, and a small dessert. Maza’s menu consists mostly of Turkish dishes, but you will find other items as well like cheeseburgers etc. If you stop in before 3 pm, I would definitely go with the special at $9.95 you can’t beat the price and amount of food they serve you. I left Maza satisfied and full. I have been back once since my initial stop in for lunch and the second time was just as delicious. You can find Maza at 2550 S. Rainbow Blvd., Suite # W1, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

“The Noodle Man” has got what you need.

I’m glad I checked The Noodle Man out because like most people I love noodles of all shapes and sizes. The Noodle Man is an authentic Chinese restaurant that makes their noodles right in front of you. There is literally a guy from China spinning, twisting, and forming the noodles behind a glass window for all the customers to see. It is a really cool experience to look in and see some guy creating the noodles from scratch and what comes out of the kitchen is awesome. I have been there now four times now for lunch and I look forward to going back. Try their spicy noodles with ground pork or their green onion pancakes. The spicy chicken noodles are lovely as well. You can find The Noodle Man at 6870 S Rainbow Blvd #101, Las Vegas, NV 89118.
