It was Super Bowl Sunday, the Eagles just pulled off the upset over the Patriots and I needed something to soak up the alcohol. I couldn’t seem to win at the tables so a nice big steak sounded like just the treat to take me to that special place. I looked no further than Adiamo at the D. This famed steak house in Las Vegas is known for their carefully aged steaks and wine selection. I sat down at the bar and ordered since the place was packed with tourists and locals. I decided on the “Oscar Style” 24 oz porterhouse steak. If you haven’t tried Oscar style it is a layer of crab meat coupled with asparagus on top of the steak and it’s delicious. For the side dish I chose the Lobster-Black Truffle Baked Ziti and oh my God was it delicious. I left Adiamo stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey and went back to my hotel room at the Downtown Grand for a deep sleep. You can find Joe Vicari’s Adiamo at 301 East Fremont Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101 on the second floor of the D casino.
Oscar’s Beef, Booze, & “Broads” is a classic Las Vegas steak house located on the 2nd floor of the Plaza Hotel with a terrific view of the Fremont Experience in downtown Las Vegas. Oscar Goodman is a former mayor of Las Vegas and this restaurant was featured on none other than Anthony’s Bourdain’s “Parts Unknown” during season 3. I really liked this place and got the chance to dine here while on a “staycation” at the Plaza hotel. I ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were humongous. For the entree I decided on the nightly special which was a Japanese sea bass served with sweet potatoes and lemon. To be honest I was expecting a little bit better for the entree, but I will go back to try a steak and more appetizers. The bar is really nice and the bartender was super friendly. This is a great place for a date and I recommend it to anyone staying downtown and to all my local friends here in Las Vegas. You can find Oscar’s at 1 S Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101. If you stay at the hotel they give out a few coupons and one of them is for a free slice of cheese cake at the restaurant.
The Fremont Hotel in Downtown Las Vegas has a wonderful spot to capitalize on a surf and turf dinner. For $39.99 you get a decent size filet mignon, lobster tail, baked potato, and bread. This is probably one of the most passed by spots in Vegas and I’m glad we had the chance to stop in and try it because the meal was superb. I’ve had a lot of luck at the tables in the Fremont, and when I tried the 2nd Street special I was sold on going back. You have to try this place for yourself. The staff is friendly and we were seated instantly. You can find the 2nd Street Grill at 200 Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Well here we are on my 39th year of life and I have to say I must be the luckiest man in the world. I have my health, family, friends, and so much to be thankful and happy about. I had a great time with my friend Derrick last night playing craps, eating steak and lobster, and we ended up at the High Roller for cocktails. I must be the most obnoxious drinker ever because I love to talk. My manager Iris at work gave me a sleeve of Titleist Pro V1’s, I won on the craps table and I woke up to my little cat Kimchi biting my fingers. I’ll spend the rest of my day playing golf at Bali Hai and responding to social media to all my birthday wishes. I love my people! I just wanted to share a few photos before I start my special day…
