Intermittent Fasting the 16:8 method, burn fat and eat what you want.

From June 1st to December 16th 2018(2 days after my birthday) I spared no calorie while I dined at amazing restaurants, spent time with lovely friends, and traveled to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and my first trip to Australia. During this duration I must have put on 30 pounds of blubber. When I got back from Australia I looked myself in the mirror and was like I have to do something drastic in order to regain my physique. I decided to kick off an intermittent fast and so far I am having amazing results.  I’m now 2 weeks into this method and the last time I checked I had lost 8 pounds, but even more by now since I don’t weigh myself everyday.  I now look into the mirror with more confidence knowing I am shedding pounds instead of gaining them.  My pants fit better and I have more energy.   The way the fast works is like this you don’t eat for 16 hours!  That’s it… You still get to eat what you want from 12 pm to 8 pm and then nothing.  You can have coffee, tea, or water to suppress your appetite, and I even enjoy alcohol like vodka soda water or red wine.   I cut out beer from my choices and drinks loaded with sugar.  The first day was rough, but now my mind set is on track and I see myself staying the course, with a special occasion meal from time to time that happens to fall outside of the 8 hour interval to accommodate my friend’s schedules.  If you want to learn more check out this link.   Also, don’t forget to exercise, run, lift, swim, stay active!

Another Challenge… This time re-marketed

Yesterday was the first day of my new 24 day challenge for 2018, but the company has renamed the challenge the 24 day jump starter that is now part of an 80 day system. I guess if I feel like it on day 25, I’ll continue on and find out what that’s all about, but for now I am focused on getting through the first few days. Yesterday and today went well, I exercised and ate clean, took my supplements, and got some rest. I woke up early today and realized I’m starting to feel different. Kind of like the fat around my face is starting to burn away. To me this is a good feeling because I know I am going in the right direction in terms of weight loss. I was down a pound during this morning’s weigh in. I felt like my body was starting to make an adjustment and I had some moments of coffee with drawl. I forgot how irritable I can get without it, but it’s nice to put the java down and inhale some nice clean water. I went to the store after work and I wanted to eat everything that my eyes laid on, but I restrained myself and settled for some Boar’s Head turkey breast and veggies. I sauteed the combination in olive oil and dusted it with some spices and Bon Appétit baby. Other than that I met some great people today, and learned some valuable lessons.

Magnificent Monday

What a terrific day I had so far. I woke up early and went to Bali Hai, one of Las Vegas’s premier golf courses located just south of Mandalay Bay on the famous Las Vegas Boulevard. I went in to meet a friend who took the role as the new caddy master. When I arrived at 8 am my friend had already sold out of caddies and asked me if I would go out. I jumped on the opportunity and I was paired with a nice man from Nebraska. We had a lot to talk about and I helped him guide in some tremendous putts throughout his round, so I felt like I had done my job (granted this was my first time caddying for money). After our round I decided to drive over to Las Vegas Golf Club and play 18 myself. I ended up shooting 76 with 1 quadruple bogie (I know, horrible), 4 birdies, 4 bogies, and nine pars.

I felt like I was on a good roll, so I wanted to let out some stored energy at the gym. I’m also on my 3rd day of a 10 day Advocare cleanse so I can feel my body start to lean out. I couldn’t wait to get on the scale to check my progress. I got on and before my eyes I was 205.5 lbs. I haven’t been 205 for 7 years so this was a special moment in my journey to lose weight and feel great. I can’t tell you how proud of myself that I am and I just want to share my happiness with all of you out there that know you can be proud of yourself too. Sometimes life throws many challenges at us and it’s difficult to focus on the important things in life like our health, fitness, and physique, but when you decide to do it, it is so worth it! Honestly I could be broke and starving, but as long as I can look in the mirror and know that I’ve earned the body in front of me there really is no comparison of that feeling. The confidence spills over into all the other aspects of our lives and good things start happening.

Success! Challenge Complete

24 days and the challenge is over. I lost nearly 13 pounds! My measurements around my belly shrank to 35.5 inches, my chest was 42.5, bicep 17.5, and my quadricep is now 24 inches around. My reasons for taking on the 24 day challenge brought to us by Advocare, were a two prong approach. I was and I am currently looking for products that I can recommend on my blog, and I wanted to lose weight. The 24 day challenge seemed to be introduced to me at the perfect time so I jumped on the opportunity. I spent the last few weeks documenting, photo taking, and mentally focusing on this event in my life as a serious positive change. I would like to thank my long time friend Nick Ritz for turning me on to the Advocare products that have made an impact on my life. The combination of supplements, meal plan, and exercise helps people like me and you suppress cravings for alcohol, caffeine, and junk food. The first several days were the hardest part as I encountered many opportunities to indulge in eating and drinking, but I kept telling myself how important it was to stick to the plan for 24 days. I tried to weigh myself at least every other day as this activity helped stimulate my desire to stick to the plan as best as I could. As I saw my weight drop first a pound, then 2 pounds, then 4, then 7, then 8, then 10, then 12, and finally 13 I cannot begin to describe the level of satisfaction and happiness that I experienced. For me my health is my wealth, so getting into shape and feeling sober, less sluggish, and overall more aware about my surroundings and enjoying my life on a different wave length makes me want to continue on with this life style. I will continue to use and support the Advocare products. I am a firm believer in everything in moderation including moderation. That is why I can safely say that taking the 24 day challenge is a perfect catalyst to achieving your fitness and health goals in a way you can still enjoy great meals and cutting out alcohol if you’re a drinker. I am more than happy to share the details of my experience with you and if you have any questions about the products or would like to order the 24 day challenge, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Facebook, Instagram or by email. Summer is here and I’ve been eating like it’s Thanksgiving. It’s already the 4th of July, so let’s enjoy the LONG weekend, but after that it’s time to take our health a little more seriously.

I’ve decided to take a challenge, the 24 day challenge by Advocare. It’s already worked for a few of my friends who I trust so it’s time to give it my review. I picked a date July 7, 2017.
